Illustrations for a project that didn't push through, but it was a good way to hone a skill that I only use occasionally for work.
The task was to create illustrations of endangered species in the Philippines. The Philippine Eagle and Tamaraw (dwarf buffalo) were chosen to create the initial sample works.
The main challenge for me was the style as it was not my go-to look (apart from never seriously drawing animals before), but the style was narrowed down to this because it fit the brief better.

Drawing the tamaraw was easier because of the lack of feathers. For both animals, however, a lot of photo references were pulled up for the most accurate representation of these beautiful creatures.
